Minnesota
WATER SERVICE INVENTORY PROGRAM

Updated 10/03/2025

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) which require public water systems to inventory all water service materials. This inventory is mandatory and will continue until each service is identified. To support this effort, the municipalities listed below, along with staff from WHKS, will conduct door-to-door inspections to check water service lines at no cost to you.

We understand you may have  questions. Please review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below or call (855) 440-4005 for more information.

Why did I receive a letter?

You received a letter because the material of your service line is  currently classified as "unknown". All service lines must have their material identified in accordance with LCRR requirements.

Can I view my communities current inventory and the status of my service line material?

You sure can! Visit the Minnesota Service Line Material Tool (link opens a new window) and enter your city or address into the search box.
